Pleasant Boys Varsity Basketball team was defeated by the Washington Demons Friday night in a tight conference matchup in Panther Gym. The Panthers fought hard, pulling out a fiery offense, but they were no match for the top-ranked team in the conference. The Panthers held the Demons close for the majority of the game but could never take the lead. Junior Dewon Trent led the Panthers with 18 points and Senior Jack Johnson came in second scoring 10 points for the Panthers. The Panthers fell to 3-4 in the season. The boys are on the road next Tuesday, facing off against the Burlington Bloodhounds. Pleasant Girls Varsity Basketball team slew the Washington Demons Friday night in conference play, in the Washington Gym. The Panthers were able to gain an early lead in the first quarter but were able to solidify their win after a 20-9 third quarter. Sophomore Andrea Lopreato was on top for the Panthers, scoring 25 total points, Tristan Shill chipped in 19, and senior Emma Huckabone put in 9 to seal the deal. The Panthers Improved in the season 3-4. The Panthers will be home for Christmas next Tuesday facing off against the Burlington Greyhounds for the last game of 2020.
