Pleasant Girls Basketball team defeated the Washington Demons on Friday night in their second conference matchup of the season. Mt. Pleasant took the Demons for a spin leading in all four quarters finishing, 46-30. The Panthers ran the floor from tipoff, overpowering the Demons with offensive skill, and sophomore shooting arms. The Panther led Washington in the first 9-7. The Panthers were able to use their defensive plays to squash the Washington offense allowing the Panthers to rack up the score. MP led at half 17-10. The Panthers improved their lead in the third, 29-18, and finished the game 46-30. Beating down the Demons for a second time this season. Sophomore Tristan Shull led the Panthers in points scoring 15 on the night, including two 3 pt. baskets, and 5 layups. Sophomore superstar Andrea Lopreato followed Tristan with 14 points in the conference matchup. Pleasant Panther Boys Basketball team defeated the Washington Demons by 3 points after trailing behind the conference leaders for 3 quarters. The Panthers finished on top at the buzzer in the SEC conference matchup on Friday night in the Demon gym. The Panthers trailed the Demons for most of the game, falling behind after the Demons scored a 14 point lead in the first quarter, 24-10. Washington’s number one offense worked its magic. The Panthers came alive after the first, cut into their lead, but a little more was needed to put the Panthers over the top. Second and third were an uphill climb then the Panthers broke out and were able to score a 13 point fourth quarter. For the second week in a row, the Panthers pulled off a last stand to come out on top. The Panthers are now 8-6 overall in the season and 5-3 in the SEC.
